11. The wading pool is reserved for children 5 years of age and under AT ALL TIMES, including break time. DO NOT ASK THE LIFEGUARD FOR AN EXCEPTION.

27. Telephone calls using the pool phone are limited to 3 minutes. The phone should be used only for necessary calls, not prolonged social conversations. The lifeguard is not a message center and it is not his/her responsibility to answer the phone while on duty at the pool.
28. No person is permitted to climb the fence to enter the pool enclosure. Entering pool area when it is closed is considered trespassing and may result in expulsion of member privileges and/or possible prosecution. Maintenance workers, lifeguards, Pool Committee and Board members may enter the pool through the gate after hours to check on the facility or to complete maintenance duties and repairs. Swimming in the pool during the off-season (either removing the tarp, or swimming before or after the swim season) will result in expulsion from the pool for up to the duration of the calendar year and may also include possible prosecution.
29. "ADULT SWIM" is open for members 21 and older and will be on a "swim at your own risk" basis. Babies under the age of 2 are permitted in the pool area with their parents during ADULT SWIM. Otherwise, no person under the age of 21 is allowed in the pool enclosure during ADULT SWIM. ADULT SWIM begins after 9:30 every night with the exception of Wednesday and Fridays. Family swim will continue until 11pm on those nights only. Teen nights may be scheduled on Wednesday nights from 8:00-10:00pm, given appropriate adult supervision available. All are welcome to the pool during this time, but the pool committee will gear activities to teens.
30. “FAMILY SWIM” is open to all members, and will be on a "swim at your own risk" basis. No lifeguard or attendant will be on duty. Therefore, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older, and is the sole responsibility of that adult. Babysitters must also be 21 or older during FAMILY SWIM.
31. Children 10 and older are permitted to remain at the pool without an adult guardian during lifeguard supervised swim hours only. Children between the ages of 10-12 must pass a swimming test given by the lifeguard before that child is permitted to remain at the pool without adult supervision.
32. All children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a member or guest who is 14 years of age or older. This older person must provide careful supervision of the younger child, and may be asked to leave by the lifeguard if safety is a concern. This rule applies to lifeguard supervised swim times only.
33. In the event that a lifeguard is not present during normal lifeguard hours (11am to 7pm), the pool will revert to “FAMILY SWIM” procedures until a lifeguard is present. Members and guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult 21 or older who is willing to take responsibility for said minors. If an adult 21 or older is not present to supervise under these circumstances, persons under 18 are not permitted to enter the water under any circumstances until a lifeguard is on duty.
34. During peak hours or when the pool is crowded, the lifeguard has the option of implementing a rotational strategy for group games. This option will limit group games (ie. sharks & minnows, or any game that requires at least half of the pool space) to 20 minute periods on the odd hours only. For instance, group games can be played for the last 20 minutes of "kid swim" at the 1pm, 3pm and 5pm hours only. The lifeguard will implement this strategy only when it is necessary to provide a balance of activities and pool space for all in attendance.
35. There will be no exceptions to the pool rules. Any member who refuses to comply with these rules will be reported to the Pool Committee and Board of Directors. The Board of Directors reserves the right to suspend or deny member privileges based on the severity of the infraction. If a member’s privileges are suspended or revoked, no refund of membership fees will be made.
36. Changes to the pool rules and regulations may be made at any time as deemed necessary by the Pool Committee.

Guest Policy

37. Guests must be accompanied to the pool by a member and are subject to all pool rules and regulations.
38. Members under the age of 12 are permitted to bring only one guest at a time, unless supervised by an adult pool member who is 21 years of age or older.
39. Guests 10-12 must pass a swim test if unaccompanied by an adult. This rule applies to lifeguard supervised swim times only.
40. Arrangements must be made with the Pool Chairperson to cover extended visits of house guests. The charges are $10 per guest per month if the guest is staying for more than 1 week.
41. Resident non-members of Woodfall and DCA, their relatives or house guests, are NOT eligible to be guests.
42. Baby-sitters are not required to pay guest charges. DCA and Woodfall non-member residents are ineligible to babysit for a member at the pool.

Pool Party Policy

If you are interested in having a party at the pool, contact the Pool Chairperson for setting up the date, time, and lifeguard staff at least two weeks prior to the requested party date. Due to the increase in pool membership and pool usage, the pool will not be closed to regular members during any parties, regardless of date or time. Parties must be held in a designated area of the pool and a notice will be placed on the gate informing all members entering the pool area that a party is in progress. Party hosts are responsible for all set-up and clean-up. If party guests are under 15 years of age, adult chaperone (21 and older) must be present during the entire party. During family swim hours, standard rules apply, requiring an adult chaperone for party guests under 18 years of age.
